New York City Personal Stories

Announcing some additions to the site!

Happy April 1st!

This morning one of my wonderful friends here in the city reached out to me to ask if I would like some help with this blog. She’s an actress, writer and a producer herself, so OF COURSE I said yes! Keeping up with all of these press conferences can be very overwhelming for one person, not to mention the emotional toll all of this bad news takes after awhile. So, yes, I am absolutely open to taking on submissions from my friends!

My main goal in starting this project was to make sure that everyone stays informed, and to give people outside of New York City a real life glimpse into our situation here. I want to give this crisis a human face, but I would be even happier to give you a whole rainbow of faces instead. So, with that in mind, if you would like to volunteer to cover a press conference OR submit a story about your own personal experiences during this shut down, please email me and tell me what you have in mind at Carbetarian@gmail.com.

Anyone who is featured on the blog will be given full credit for their work, and will be allowed to link to any side projects or venmo/cashapp/gofundme/paypal accounts they wish to share. It’s not much, but I would love to use this blog to introduce more talent to the world. If you have a COVID-19 story you would like to share that is NOT from New York, that is ok too! All perspectives are welcome.

Lastly, if someone you know and love has passed away from COVID-19 and you would like a place to post a remembrance, I am also opening my blog up to you. You are welcome to write about your loved one in your own words, or you can call me up and tell me your story and I will write it up for you. You are also welcome to use that space to link to a gofundme account, or anything else you feel would be helpful.

We are all in this together, and everyone’s voice deserves to be heard. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to sharing even more of this space with you all in the future.
